9th August, 1971. Operation Demetrius comes into effect. The British Army has begun arresting and interning individuals they believe to be associated with the Irish Republican Army (IRA). Beginning with dawn raids, armed soldiers enter homes and take men away to be imprisoned without trial. Four days of violence follow.
The Troubles (Working Title) follows the story of two young men, Bobby and Thomas, who are caught in a conflict that surrounds and defines their lives. As pressure mounts on all sides, Bobby tries to keep those closest to him safe, while Tommy continues to dream of a united Ireland against the British state. What follows is a harrowing look at the tragedy of war seen through the eyes of a family fighting to survive.
